Workshop: Create Your TikTok Videos Step by Step
The recipe for a video that performs
Every video that works follows the same structure. Learn it, apply it, then vary.
graph LR
A[HOOK 0-1s] --> B[PROMISE 1-3s]
B --> C[CONTENT 3-X s]
C --> D[LOOP / CTA]
| Block | Duration | Your job |
|---|---|---|
| Hook | 0–1s | Stop the thumb |
| Promise | 1–3s | Say what they'll get |
| Content | the core | Keep the promise, fast |
| Loop/CTA | end | Make them loop or act |
20 hooks to copy (replace the [brackets])
Keep this list handy. For each video, write 5 and pick the best.
Warning / fear
- "Stop [mistake] if you want [result]."
- "3 mistakes ruining your [topic]."
- "Nobody tells you this about [topic]…"
Result / curiosity
- "How I went from [X] to [Y] in [time]."
- "The method [type of pros] hide."
- "Do this for 7 days and watch what happens."
Targeted question ("that's me" effect)
- "You do [activity] and have [problem]? Watch."
- "POV: you have [precise situation your target lives]."
Counter-intuitive
- "[Common belief] is wrong. Here's why."
- "I quit [common habit] and [surprising result]."
Open loop
- "Wait for the end, the last point changes everything."
- "5 things about [topic] — #4 is (almost) banned."
Exercise now: take today's idea, write 5 hooks from this list, read them out loud, keep the one that makes you say "oh yeah."
3 full scripts ready to film
Script A — The quick tip (15s)
[0-1s] HOOK: "The [software] shortcut nobody knows."
[1-3s] "If you still do [slow method], you lose 10 min a day."
[3-12s] "Watch: select this, do [action], boom."
[screen close-up, on-screen text at each step]
[12-15s] "Save the video so you don't forget. I post one a day."
Script B — The common mistake (20s)
[0-1s] HOOK: "Stop doing this right now."
[1-4s] "It's the #1 beginner mistake in [topic]."
[4-15s] "Instead of [bad method], do [good method].
The difference? [concrete quantified benefit]."
[15-20s] "Which one were you doing? Tell me in the comments."
Script C — The before/after (18s)
[0-2s] HOOK: show the BEFORE (ugly/failed) + "Watch the transformation."
[2-5s] "In 3 steps, without [usual constraint]."
[5-15s] step 1, 2, 3 [each step = 1 short shot + text]
[15-18s] show the AFTER + "Full tutorial in part 2, follow me."
Film and edit without losing your day
Filming (10 min):
- Near a window (daylight)
- Phone propped up (book, stand)
- You speak loud and fast, no dead time
- Redo the 1st second 3 times, keep the best
Editing in the TikTok app (10 min):
- Cut all silences (pace = retention)
- Add auto captions then fix them
- Put a trending sound in the background
- On-screen text on the hook (big, readable in the 1st second)
The "series" technique (the follower hack)
A single video gets views. A series gets followers, because people follow "so they don't miss what's next."
- Announce: "Part 1 of 5."
- End with: "Follow for part 2."
- The next day, start with: "Missed part 1? Go watch it."
Action: turn your best topic into a 4-episode series. You've got content for 4 days and a follower machine.
Your 14-day posting plan
| Day | Format | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| 1-3 | Quick tip | Test 3 different hooks on the same topic |
| 4-6 | Common mistake | Spark debate in the comments |
| 7 | Analyze your stats | Which format performed best? |
| 8-11 | Series (4 episodes) | On your winning topic from day 7 |
| 12-13 | Before/after | Repurpose your best series into a 1-video recap |
| 14 | Review | Keep what works, drop the rest |
Summary
An effective TikTok video always follows: hook (0-1s) → promise (1-3s) → fast content → loop/CTA. Pull from the 20 hooks provided (write 5, keep the best), start from one of the 3 ready-to-film scripts, and edit fast in the app (cut silences, captions, trending sound). The follower hack is the series: "part 1/5, follow for more." Launch with the 14-day plan, analyze on day 7, and double down on what works. Next chapter, AI will generate ideas, hooks and scripts for you in seconds.
